There is uncertainty in Zeno’s Formulation of the paradoxes

20-7-2012

The formulation of Zeno’s paradoxes where on the one hand, the arrow and on the  other hand, Achilles and the turtle moving in the dichotomous way, lead to the continuous minimization of the travelled distances, as well as of the speeds and of the duration of the movement. It is obvious that, objects of our perceived world would not be able to move in this way and especially eternally. However, Zeno doesn’t clarify where – in which environment- the arrow would be unable to move. This (unintentional) Zeno’s omission, contributes significantly to the creation of paradox and confusion by anyone who is engaged in these riddles. No one has ever perceived this way of movement in our world to this day.

Zeno’s dichotomous way of motion does not only concern the arrow, Achilles and the turtle but also any material object. The solution process therefore, remains the same for any mobile object. The only particularity is that although Achilles was a demigod, he was unable to reach the turtle. However, all the details found in a book, are impossible to be presented in a summary.
